Tax services Prepare federal and state individual income tax returns. Assist with S corporation, partnership, corporate, and fiduciary tax returns. Organize tax documents and prepare supporting workpapers. Compare current-year information with prior-year tax returns. Identify missing information, inconsistencies, and matters requiring additional review. Assist with tax projections, research, notices, and client correspondence.
Accounting and financial statements Maintain monthly client accounting records in QuickBooks Online. Reconcile bank, credit card, payroll, loan, and other balance-sheet accounts. Prepare adjusting journal entries. Review general ledgers for unusual or incorrectly classified transactions. Prepare draft balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules. Assist with compilation and review engagements and related workpapers.
Payroll Review ADP payroll reports. Reconcile payroll expense and liabilities to the general ledger. Assist with quarterly and year-end payroll reconciliations. Compare payroll records with Forms 941 and W-2.
Client service Communicate with clients regarding missing information and routine questions. Explain accounting and tax matters in clear, professional language. Manage assignments for multiple clients and meet established deadlines. Work cooperatively with other firm employees.
Technology and process improvement Use Microsoft 365, Adobe Acrobat, QuickBooks Online, and firm tax software efficiently. Use approved AI tools to assist with research, checklists, client communications, and other appropriate tasks. Verify all technology-generated results against reliable source information. Help create repeatable templates, procedures, and workflow improvements. Protect confidential client tax and financial information.
Requirements
Job requirements At least two years of recent tax or public-accounting experience. Experience preparing Forms 1040, 1120-S, and 1065. Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online. Ability to prepare reconciliations and adjusting entries. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Adobe Acrobat. Strong written and spoken English. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to pass a job-related technical assessment.
